LAGOS — The campaign organisation of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Prince Laja Adeoye, has highlighted its Àtúntò Èkó 1.0 (Reset Lagos) agenda as the candidate’s proposed policy framework for addressing some of the state’s major socio-economic and infrastructural challenges ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The agenda, according to the campaign, is centred on inclusive economic growth, improved public services, grassroots governance and greater opportunities for residents.
Adeoye, who emerged as the APM’s Lagos governorship candidate in May 2026, has subsequently commenced campaign activities ahead of the election.
In a statement by Olusegun C. A. Taiwo (OCAT), SSA Digital Media Communication, Laja Adeoye Campaign Organisation, the campaign said Lagos requires fresh approaches to challenges including traffic congestion, housing, flooding, unemployment, healthcare, electricity and the rising cost of living.
The statement said Àtúntò Èkó 1.0 seeks to address these challenges through proposals covering power, housing, transportation, healthcare, education, employment and economic development.
Among the proposals attributed to Adeoye are independent power projects, affordable housing schemes, improved flood management, better transportation systems and initiatives designed to support small and medium-sized businesses and the informal sector.
The campaign also identified technology, creative industries, agriculture and the blue economy as areas with potential for job creation and economic diversification. Adeoye's published policy platform similarly lists power and infrastructure, housing, economic development, social services and governance among its major policy areas.
Focus on grassroots governance
Another major component of the proposed agenda is grassroots administration.
According to the campaign, Adeoye is proposing full local government autonomy and the conversion of Lagos' 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) into full-fledged local government areas, which would bring the total number of local governments to 57.
The proposal was also reported during the unveiling of the Àtúntò Èkó blueprint in May, when Adeoye presented the restructuring of local government administration as part of his governance reforms.
The campaign said the agenda would further promote greater transparency in public finances, community participation, youth technology hubs and women-led cooperative initiatives.
Private-sector experience
Taiwo also drew attention to Adeoye's professional background in banking, business, real estate and oil and gas, describing the experience as part of the foundation of the candidate's approach to governance.
The candidate's official profile identifies him as a banker, entrepreneur, real estate developer and oil-and-gas professional, while his campaign says his private-sector experience informs his emphasis on investment, efficiency and accountability.
However, the campaign statement acknowledged that the effectiveness of any proposed programme would ultimately depend on implementation, funding, timelines and measurable outcomes.
It therefore called for public scrutiny of the Àtúntò Èkó 1.0 proposals, including questions about how the programmes would be financed, implemented and evaluated.
“Lagos deserves an election in which programmes, records and practical solutions receive serious attention,” the statement said.
The campaign maintained that Àtúntò Èkó 1.0 provides one policy proposition for Lagosians to examine alongside the programmes and proposals of other candidates ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Recent reports on Adeoye's campaign indicate that the APM's electioneering activities are focused on taking the “Reset Lagos” message across communities and discussing issues such as education, healthcare, flooding, security, housing and employment.
