The construction, rehabilitation and modernization of Kebbi State Central 'Image Maker Motorpark' in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital is to gulp N2.990.352.128.23 billion.
While signing the agreement for the completion of the project between the state government and AMIJAPP Nigeria Limited, the Commissioner for Works and Transport Engineer Abdullahi Umar Faruk said the 25 year old Central Motorpark constructed in 1996 had been allowed to deterriote due to negligence by successive administrations in the state.
He said "His Excellency, Governor Nasiru Idris has directed that the central motorpark be redesigned, constructed and modernized to a befitting gateway park to serve as image maker for the state".
He said the Motorpark would have lock- up shops, gallery, modern administrative block,water supply, restaurant, sit out for commuters, electronic information board and convenient centre for local and international travellers with freight collation
Other features of the Motorpark contract include construction of four gates, two gates house, 20 lock-up shops, NURTW office, solar street lights, boreholes and overheard tanks.
He added that to do this, a joint team of professional consultants and the state Ministry of Works has redesigned the Motorpark to become a comfortable, functional and aesthetic edifice for a modern public transport.
The Commissioner said the life span of the project is 12 months.
