Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the governorship election in Kebbi State, General Aminu Bande (rtd) has said he would approach the court to reclaim his mandate from the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Dr Nasiru Idris, already declared winner of the gubernatorial election by INEC.
While addressing journalists at his residence in Birnin Kebbi, Bande said he has all the evidence to prove that he won the election that was given to the APC candidate.
"The People of kebbi State voted for me on the 15 of April not the APC candidate as declared by INEC. I will reclaim my mandate in court.
"People of kebbi State did not vote me because I gave them fertilizer,money clothing materials as APC but they voted for me because of their trust in me. I assured them we will recover that mandate they gave me on April, 15", he said.
Bande said he and his supporters were worried about the persecution the APC led government in the state have subjected those they perceived as having any linkage with me.
"There are over 40 PDP supporters in prisons. They also suspended some royal fathers because of me, without recoursing to the emirate council.
"I called on Governor Bagudu to release them for the sake of this Ramadan period. I want him to also look into issue of civil servants whose salaries were stopped for supporting me", Bande said.
