The All Progressives Congress (APC) in kebbi State on Sunday called on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Yakubu Mahmud to decalare it's guber candidate, Nasiru Idris winner of the Governorship Election and to remove the Collation Officer, Professor Yusuf Sa'idu for declaring the election inconclusive.
The party through it's Chairman Publicity Committee for the governorship election campaign, Alhajl Kabiru Sani Giant said his removal should be with immediate effect because he has no reason to declare the governorship election inconclusive as the APC candidate was leadig with a wide margin.
He said removal of the collation officer would bring sanity to the re-run of the elections whenever INEC decided to conduct it.
"The APC Governorship Candidate, Dr. Nasir Idris has won the election and he was expected to be declared winner of the election when the coalition officer declared it inconclusive for whatever reason",he said.
Alhaji Giant who is also the National Coordinator for Tinubu/Shettima 2023 said rdesults from the election showed that APC’s candidate, Alhaji Nasiru Idris was leading by polling 388,258 against his PDP counterpart, Aminu Bande's 342,980 votes.
He said "There is no need to declare the election inconclusive. Our candidate won fair and square. He is leading with 45,278 votes difference.
"Despite all the PDP's machinations, we are still comfortably ahead. Even if INEC holds supplementary elections we are confident of increasing our margin because all the areas where the polls were cancelled are our strongholds.
“We urge INEC to immediately declare our candidate winner of the election so that the people of Kebbi State, like those in other states can have peace of mind and go about their normal lives", he said.
