Kebbi Guber: PDP Says APC's Call For Declaration Of Inconclusive Election's Results Contemptuous

Peoples Democratic Party( PDP ) has slammed the All Progressives Congress APC for asking the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) to declare results of the inconsulsive governorship election held in kebbi State last Saturday.

While reacting to a newspaper's interview credit to one of the APC's chieftains in the state, Alhaji Abubakar Malam (Shettiman Gwand) the PDP said it was premature, baseless and contemptuous to the electoral process.

Alhaji Sani Dododo, Chairman, Publicly Committee for PDP in the state, in a press statement said the call for INEC to declare APC Gubernatorial Candidate as duly returned is not only undemocratic but an attempt to undermine constitutional powers of the electoral body and call for anarchy in the state.

He said "It is most unfortunate for a man of malam's status to go so low in trying to undermine Nigeria's constitution by displaying ignorance of the law.

"We therefore urge security agencies to do the needful by arresting and prosecuting him for treasonable statement capable also of disrupting law and order in the state".

Dododo said INEC has been very open before arriving at the decision to pronounce Kebbi gubernatorial elections inconclusive. "There is no iota of doubt that Abubakar Malam is having a sinister intent for his uninformed call", he said 

The party appealed to its members and the general public to remain calm and to be law abiding while awaiting formal announcement from INEC that's constitutionally saddle with the responsibility of coordinating all election matters in the country.
