Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) House of Representatives candidate, Professor Sahabi Danladi Mahuta has promised to prioritize fight against banditry in Zuru-Sakaba Danko/Wasagu-Fakai Federal Constituency if elected to the National Assembly in the February 25 elections.
Professor Mahuta, a University Don also said he would transform the economy of his constituency for the upward development of the people.
While addressing journalists during a campaign rally in his federal constituency he said Zuru-Sakaba-Danko/Wasagu-Fakai areas of Kebbi State was well blessed with natural resources to industrialize the area but the insecurity challenge occasioned by banditry attacks has hampered their development.
He said "I will do everything possible within the powers of a legislator to ensure that peace returns to my area.
"We shall seek urgent and purposeful support from the President to end banditry in my constituency.
"We are blessed with vast arable agricultural land that can turn out millions of tons of farm produce. Besides,we have mineral deposits in large quantities not found in any part of the State".
Professor Mahuta added that when voted into office, he would invite both foreign and local investors to establish industries in the constituency to provide job opportunities for the youth and boost the socioeconomic base of his people and those of the hard working market women.
He charged his people not to allow the current hardships deter them from voting during the forth coming general elections but should use the opportunity and turn out in large numbers to vote out those representation them poorly at the national assembly.
The university Don also charged the youth to be very security conscious during the electioneering period urging them to be law abiding before, during and after voting for the peace of the federal constituency.
