The All Progressives Congress APC Governorship Candidate in Kebbi State, Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu) has pledged his support for market traders in the state if elected governor.
He said he would give every support to the association to grow business of its members in the way Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu's administration has done to assist them.
He made the pledged while speaking at the one year anniversary of the association at the presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.
He said the market traders association has contributed it's quota to the economic development of the state and it deserves to be supported for the progress and development of Kebbi State.
He enjoined the association to continue in it's support for the state government and APC for continuity that will boost their businesses and economic growth of the state.
In his speech, the Secretary to the State Government, Babale Umar Yauri who was represented by the Acting Head of Service, Sufiyanu Garba Bena commended the traders for the coordial relationship that exists between them and the state government. He said government will continue in it's support and assistance to them.
Earlier the state chairman of MATAN, Alhaji Ismail Abubakar Usman Kamba said the association would continue to support government policies to boost the economy of the state. He called on government for more support to members of the association in the face of harsh economic situation that's affecting businesses in the country.
State coordinator of the association, Hajiya Usman Liman also called on government for more support to women. She stated that women are ready to support APC to retain power in the state.
As part of the anniversary events, MATAN also gave awards to prominent personalities in the state such as, APC gubernatorial candidate Nasiru Idris, Senator Bala Ibn Na'Allah, House of representatives member Yusuf Tanko Sunnunu , Bashir Matawalle, SSG, Babale Umar Yauri and three permanent secretaries in the state ministries of Commerce and Industry, Budget and Economic Planning, Finance and others whom they said have supported the association.
