Easter Celebration: Ogun Police Assures Residents Adequate Security

The Ogun State Police Command given the Easter celebration wishes to assure residents of the state that the Police Command has put in place a tight security arrangement to ensure a hitch-free Easter celebration.

The Command, knowing-fully well that the state is hosting headquarters of various religious bodies which in no doubt will attract an influx of people from several parts of the country as well as from outside the country to the state is leaving no stone unturned to secure lives and properties of residents as well as that of the visitors.

According to the statement signed by Ogun public relations officer, DSP Abímbola Oyeyemi, it reads, "Given this, a large number of Policemen has been tactically deployed by the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole across the length and breadth of the state with a clear mandate of ensuring crime-free Easter celebration. Men of Special units such as SWAT, PMF, and the Anti-kidnapping/Cultism section have also been deployed to nip in the bud any violent crime that may want to rear its ugly head.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole while felicitating the Christian faithful in the state enjoin them to reflect on the reason for the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ and be good ambassadors of Christ always.

He also appealed to members of the public to alert the Police whenever they noticed any strange faces, gatherings, or movements in their area to assist the security agencies to perform their duty to the optimal level, as security is everybody’s business.
