In a bid to make life better for people living with Sickle Cell Anemia, Embassy Foundation, a non-governmental organization that is saddled with the responsibilities of putting smile on the faces of patients has unveiled its plan for 16 local government in Kwara State.
According to the coordinator of the foundation,
Mr.Tunji Abdullahi Ojolowo, he said the Foundation was willing to support the
patients in terms of Test, prevention, treatment and drugs distribution to the
affected people in the state.
Mr.Tunji Ojolowo said this during the Foundation courtesy visit to the commissioner of health, Dr. Raji Rasaq, he said the Foundation started its awareness and sensitization on the deadly disease since last year in Ilorin Kwara State after the discovery of COVID 19 in Nigeria, and since then the foundation has been distributing drugs and foods to the registered patients particularly in Ilorin metropolis.

He stressed further that the foundation has decided to
take its campaign to the 16 Local Government of the State starting from June
2021
Ojolowo said people living with Sickle Cell Anemia
disease can face multitude of challenges in the process of managing their
condition, treatments right from birth and it would continue for a lifetime,
while spending so much causing undue financial obligation on patients and their
families.
When speaking on the Foundation’s new program, the Germany based founder and President of the NGO Mr. Razaq Ayo Ojolowo said, “We are excited that Embassy Foundation will provide much needed help to individuals living with Sickle Cell anemia during this difficult time. It is our great pleasure that we are partnering with Sickle Cell Foundation here in Germany to support the Sickle Cell Community in Nigeria and to also reach out to as many patients as possible most especially in rural areas where there is no availability of good health care facilities."
Embassy Foundation was established in 2015 to support the founder's youngest son, Bolaji Ojolowo who is a Sickle Cell Anemia patient and other children that are in the same fate. Since it's establishment, it has organized various programmes that includes the following;, Sensitization/awareness, treatments, distribution of drugs, foods and relief materials to patients most especially during COVID-19 pandemic.
