PA MICHAEL ADEOYE IYANDA FINALLY LAID TO REST

Amidst pomp and pageantry, Ile-Ife the ancestral home of the Yorubas came alive recently when the Family of Late Pa Michael Adeoye Iyanda laid their deceased father to rest.

Having lived for 76 years, his burial arrangement started with lying in state in his residence at Alubata Street, Alapata, Modakeke in Osun state. Wake keep followed immediately where mem
bers of Catholic Church and other Christian faithful including family members and others all came to celebrate a fulfilled life the old man lived.

His friends of over 5 decades relationship poured encomiums on the Late Adeoye Iyanda describing the deceased as a trust worthy fellow who lived all his life for Christ.

The early morning of Friday 3^rd witnessed his burial service at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lagere Ile-Ife, Osun state with Rev. Fr. Akinyode leading the officiating ministers of God. In his words, he described the Late Iyanda as a complete son of God whose love for Christ was consistent to the end. He did admonish the children of the Late Catholic member to remain united and work towards retaining the good memory of Pa Iyanda among the Catholic fold in Ile-Ife.

 His interment followed immediately after the burial service at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ile-Ife, while guests were entertained at Seventh Day Adventist Primary school, Ile-Ife.

In his remarks, Olufemi Iyanda, Publisher of African Pride International, a Magazine publication based in Italy thanked those that stood by the family during the life time of the deceased and those that came from far and near to make the event a memorable one.

The Late Pa Michael Adeoye Iyanda was born in Awugbo’s compound, Ila Orangun, while his mother popularly known as Asabi hailed from Odu’s compound the same town in Osun state.

Iyanda lost his father at a tender age and after learning handiwork as a bricklayer, he migrated to Ile-ife in Osun state for a greener pasture.

In Ile – Ife he got married to his late wife Mrs. Felicia Iyanda Folorunsho Aduke who bore him three of his children, Iyabo, Olufemi and Funmilayo.

After the demise of his wife he later remarried to two other women, Late Mrs Olapade Pedro-Iyanda and Mrs Sadiat Iyanda, the union of these two women gave him Victoria and Opeyemi Christiana.

 Among those that graced the occasion were the General Overseer of Zoe Pentecostal Mission Inc. Apostle Dr. Michael Tayo Adenitire; Mr. Jimoh Ayinde, the General Manager, World Information Agents; Mrs. Taiwo Adedayo, General Editor, Alaroye Group of Newspapers and a host of others.
