OKADA RIDERS ARE SERIOUS PROBLEM ON THE ISLAND-GROUP ALLEGES

The Concern citizen of Lagos has called on the state government to take necessary action against road block and hindrances of vehicle movement in some part of Lagos Island as a result of some okada riders taken the whole of the road.
The chairman of the group, Mr. Saheed Aderoju who lauded Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on his transformation agenda in Lagos said, “We appreciate our amiable governor for the great work he has done in Lagos in the last three years of his administration. We want to say that with him, Lagos is really working. In this vein, we would like to call the attention of the state government and other stake holders to the nuisance Okada riders on the Island especially Idumota under bridge cause everyday makes the place inaccessible during peak period. We would be glad if the state government could use its machinery and get the place clear to ease out unnecessary traffic that hinders easy passage of vehicle in the area."

He stressed further that several million of naira is wasted in traffic every day in Lagos due to unnecessary gridlock that is caused by motor cycle riders in the area. Also, the group has charged Nigerian youths to be law abiding as the nation approaches election year.

The non- profit group was established some years back to serve as watch-dog against different vices in Lagos environs especially on the Island.
