DINO MELAYE AND 13 OTHER SENATORS LEFT FOR PDP

Despite the plea of the Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan to members not to dump the ruling party, Senator Dino Melaye, former Governor of Kano, Rabiu Kwankwaso and 13 others have embraced PDP for a prospective political oportunities in 2019.
Their defection caused a stir in the house this morning as the chants of PDP rented the air while Senate President Bukola Saraki made the announcement.
Dino Melaye who made his intention known immediately he came back to the Upper Chamber after his travails with the Police of a possible defection left All Progressives Congress (APC) with other 13 members of the party. His co-travelers are; former Governor of Kano, Rabiu Kwankwaso; Barnabas Gemade from Benue State, Shaaba Lafiaji (Kwara), Senators Suleiman Hunkuyi, Ibrahim Danbaba, Ubale Shittu, Isah Misau, Suleiman Nazif, Soji Akanbi.
Also, Rafiu Ibrahim (Kwara), Abdulazeez Nyako(Adamawa), Monsurat Sunmonu (Oyo) and Usman Nafada (Gombe). They have all left the ruling party to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). 
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki made the announcement on Tuesday during plenary.  After the announcement by the Senate President, some Senators started chanting “PDP”, in the chamber.
With this development, there is high expectation that Dr. Bukola Saraki too might dump the party in the coming week.
