OLUBADAN HONOURS AS JOURNALIST HOLDS BOOK PRESENTATION


Today the city of Ibadan will witness a massive turn-out of Yoruba sons and daughters as the Editor of ALARIYA Oodua, Kunle Babrinde holds a formal presentation of Yoruba Historical Book in honour of Olubadn of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji.
The book titled Yoruba Nitooto x-rays the historical events of the following towns and personnel in Yoruba land; Ile-Ife and Modakeke; Oyo Alaafin; Ibadan, Ilorin and Alaafin Aole.
Kunle Babarinde said, "It is high time Africans, especially the well conscious Yorubas write their story in a lucid way that will live with us from generation to generations. Doing it in our own way will create consciousness of how important our forebears were and this will sharpen a better tomorrow for our generation yet unborn."
Babarinde said, “The book was edited by Association Of Yoruba Language Lecturers In Colleges Of Education in Nigeria under the leadership of the then president, Dr. S.M Raji of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State & Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo State. The book contains accurate historical facts about the source of the Yorubas and how some important towns in Yoruba land was founded. In this historical book widely acknowledged by many scholars worldwide, the leadership tussles between the Alaafin Of Oyo and the Ooni Of Ife was discussed and settled.
It also contains the history of Moremi the Yoruba heroine, history of Ile-Ife, Modakeke, Oyo, Ibadan, how Ilorin, Kwara state was founded by an Oyo indigene and lost to Fulani, the historical fact about Alaafin Aole, the monarch that allegedly cursed the Yorubba race, the history of all Aare Ona Kakanfo (Yoruba Generalissimo) and lots more.
The 345 pages book shall be reviewed by Professor Duro Adeleke, University of Ibadan, while Engineer Seyi Makinde will play the role of the Chief Launcher. Amongst those expected at the book launch are; The Executive governor of Oyo state, Senator Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi; Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Minister of Information and Culture, Senator Rasheed Ladoja; Jericho club, Ajorosun club of Ibadan and a host of others.  
Yoruba Nitooto had it first launch in Lagos where notable stakeholders like the Aare Onakakanfo f Yourba land, Iba Gani Adams and others were present.
Dele Gold will be at the band stand to thrill audience with good music.
