Aborishade Niyi

Members of People's Democratic Party (PDP), Apapa area in Lagos are still in shock over the untimely death of the party Chairman, Prince Niyi Aborishade.
According to one of his members, name withheld, he said the deceased was assassinated by unknown gun men around Eti-Osa L.G on his way from a reconciliatory meeting he went to attend in Epe in company of some other party members.
Another side of the story being told by an eye witness, he said, “He went with some other party members for a re-conciliatory meeting in Eti-Osa; they were there waiting for the arrival of the state Chairman, Honourable Moshood Adegoke Salvaddor. Immediately he arrived some thugs that came with him they chased away all other Chairmen and targeted Hon. Niyi Aborishade, he was held captive by them and they shot him on his knees. They quickly left the scene and left him in his pool of blood.
“Aborishade was later rushed to First Consultant hospital at Obalende but he gave up the ghost before nothing could be done to save his life.
In his reaction, the state chairman, He said, that's not true; I only got there with four armed Civil defense corps. When trouble broke out they were the one that whisked me away from the place, I didn't know when the deceased was shot. I later got information about his demise."

Yesterday I was supposed to visit three local government, we have been to Epe and Ibeju-Lekki where we were well received, Eti-Osa was the last place. We got their and met a crowd of people dancing and happy to receive us. Along the line when it was time to speak, disagreement ensued between two of our members, as the state officer Mr Orioye started speaking, the Local government chairman said No... No..., he should not! That was how the fracas started between Orioye and Fasasi the LG Chairman; I did caution them that they should allow every voice to be heard.

Tables started flying, I was quickly whisked away and it was later I got the news of death. It was a very bad situation. I want our people to maintain peace; this has been my plea all along. It was a very sad situation for us in Lagos." He concluded.
