The Executive Committee of the Sikiru Ayinde Barrister Musical Festival Forum (BarryFest), Olaide Olawumi has celebrated the successful conclusion of BarryFest 2026, describing the event as a historic achievement in the ongoing efforts to preserve and promote the legacy of the late Fuji music legend, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.
In an appreciation message issued after the festival, the committee expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the success of the event and thanked the numerous guests, stakeholders, media practitioners, volunteers, performers, sponsors, donors and supporters who contributed to making the third edition of the festival a memorable one.
According to the organisers, BarryFest 2026 attracted participants from across Nigeria and several countries around the world, reflecting the enduring influence of Barrister's music and cultural legacy. The committee noted that the impressive turnout demonstrated how the late icon continues to inspire and unite people beyond geographical and generational boundaries.
One of the major highlights of the festival was the unveiling of a monument in honour of the Fuji pioneer. The organisers described the project as a landmark achievement and a lasting tribute to a man widely regarded as the creator of Fuji music. They added that the successful completion of the monument showcased the power of collective commitment toward preserving history and celebrating excellence.
The committee also extended special appreciation to sponsors, donors and well-wishers whose financial and moral support contributed significantly to the success of the festival and its broader mission of safeguarding Barrister's legacy for future generations.
While celebrating the success of the 2026 edition, the organisers announced that plans are already underway for BarryFest 2028.
