The Peoples Democratic Party's Director General for 2023 Governorship Election Campaign in kebbi State, Abubakar Shehu (GEDA) has resigned from the party.
Shehu in a letter addressed to the PDP ward chairman Nasarawa I said his resignation is with immediate effect.
"I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately", the letter read in part.
He added that his decision was made after a careful consideration and reflection on his political beliefs, aspirations, and the direction he wish to pursue his service to the people of Kebbi State.
"I am grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and relationship I had gained during my time in the party.
However, I have resolved to align myself with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as I believe it provides a platform that better reflects my current political ideals and vision for governance and development", the DG campaign said
GEDA, as he is fondly called in the political circle lost the Kebbi Central Senatorial Districts election to Senator Muhammad Aliero, he had served as the secretary general of the Gwandu Emirate Descendants Association (GEDA) and in other capabilities of the state politics.
