The Federal High Court in Lagos has summoned Nollywood actress Doris Ogala over alleged false allegations made against the General Overseer of Greater Liberation City, Chris Okafor.
Contrary to claims circulating on social media, sources say the cleric is not responsible for the actress’s recent invitation by law enforcement authorities.
Instead, Ogala is reportedly being sought in connection with a criminal suit filed by the Federal Government before the Federal High Court, Lagos Judicial Division. The case, marked FHC/L/2/220C/2026 – Federal Republic of Nigeria v. Doris Ogala, is before Justice Aluko.
According to sources familiar with the matter, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, attempted to contact the actress ahead of her scheduled arraignment on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. She is said to be currently on administrative bail.
“The officers only sought to serve the defendant with the charge and ensure her appearance before the court,” a source disclosed.
Court documents indicate that the Federal Government filed a four-count charge against Ogala bordering on alleged cyberstalking, dissemination of false information, harassment, and attempted extortion under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Amendment Act, 2024.
The charges include allegations that the actress published intimate images of the cleric without consent, made claims accusing him of serious crimes, and shared videos and messages allegedly intended to harass and intimidate him. She is also accused of threatening further publication of damaging materials unless certain demands were met.
A source close to the case maintained that Okafor is not directly involved in the prosecution beyond being the complainant.
“The matter is strictly a legal process. Whoever makes allegations must be prepared to substantiate them in court,” the source said.
The case highlights what insiders describe as a state-driven legal action, rather than one influenced by personal interests, despite narratives suggesting otherwise on social media.
