Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has released the sum of N10bn to the state's Pilgrims Welfare Agency to secure 1,300 seats for the 2026 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
Announcing this in Birnin kebbi on Saturday, the Executive Chairman of the State's Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruku Aliyu Yaro said the payment for the Hajj seats was made by the Governor so that no Kebbi intending pilgrims would be left out of next year's Hajj to Saudi Arabia.
He said "With this singular privilege, the door is now open for any intending pilgrims to make payment for the 2026 Hajj seats till Monday,16th of December, 2026".
He said many changes have been introduced by the Saudi authorities for next year's Hajj operations and every intending pilgrims must abide those changes while embarking on the journey to the Holy Land. "If any pilgrims is found wanting he or she will be deported back home", he said.
The Chairman of the State's Pilgrims Welfare Agency also implored intending pilgrims from Kebbi to abide by the rules and requirements guilding the hajj operations and do as they were instructed to do.
