Freehand Concept foundation has graduated 26 people with disability on life transformative skills acquisition program and as well equipped them with N2.6m cash grants.
Each of the 26 beneficiaries of the skill acquisition empowerment program got N100,000 cash grant each to enlarge their economic wel-being.
During its first graduation ceremony held at Kebbi Innovation and Tech Hub, in Birnin Kebbi, certificates and cash were presented to the graduands to foster their dedication and progress on the intensive training on waste to wealth Creative Innovation and Design process skills they acquired
S. A Bashar Aliyu Buhari, founder of the foundation who was represented by Comrade Ibrahim Ngaski highlighted the importance of people with disability in our society, Ngaski reiterated that this gesture is going to be a continuous program. He warned the beneficiaries to judiciously use the seed grant of 100,000 each to 26 beneficiaries as a monitoring mechanism is going to be put in place to ensure sustainability.
Hon. Ibrahim Ngask who led the team of the Sponsors of the training event said graduation ceremony for the 26 women signalled the success of the pilot batch and it reinforced Freehand Concept mission to uplift more men and women, promote entrepreneurship, and build sustainable livelihoods for families within the trainees community.
Ngaski reiterated his association’s commitment to economic empowerment, stating that all the graduated women would receive cash in envelope to kick start and launch their businesses. He said “Today marks the fulfilment of a noble vision and the beginning of new possibilities. These 26 courageous Men and Women have emerged from this programme not only empowered with skills but equipped with purpose".
The Representative of Bashar Aliyu Buhari commended the management of Freehand Concept for their vision and hard work. He said the initiative was aimed at empowering the women for their economic progress.
He enjioned them to make the most of the skills they had acquired, emphasising that their journey toward independence and self-sufficiency had only just begun.
An exhibition of impressive handiworks by the graduands were displayed at the event.
