Welfare of Customs Officers Wives Remain COWA's Priority - Wife of NCS Comptroller General

The National President and Chairperson of Customs Officers Wives Association (COWA) Mrs Kikelomo Adeniyi has said the welfare of wives of Customs officers in the country remains the priority of COWA.

The COWA Chairperson who was on official duty to Kebbi State Command's Chapter of the association for the commissioning of the state office of COWA and distribution of essential commodities to vulnerable in the community commended Kebbi command for its support and vision for the progress of the association.

The COWA chairperson lauded the COWA Kebbi state chairperson Mrs Chinaa Nwokorie for bringing to life a physical office for the association. She said "This is a testament to your leadership and commitment to the welfare of our members. 

I'm also impressed by your initiative to extend hands of support to orphanages, demonstrating the compassion and empathy that defines our association".

She added that since 2023 COWA has been working tirelessly to create a platform for the wives of Customs officers to come together and maje positive impact in the communities. "Today, we have made significant progress in various areas such as providing support to orphanages, widows, vulnerable groups, providing capacity building,training , equipping members with skills and knowledge to excel in their personal and professional lives", she said.

The wife of the Customs Comptroller General enjoins members of COWA to work together, support one another to make positive impact in their various communities. She thanked Kebbi command for hosting her team,saying the visit will strengthen the bond and create new opportunities for collaboration and growth.

Earlier in her speech Mrs Chinaa Nwokorie said the presence of the COWA President in Kebbi command was a testament to her commitment to the COWA’s objectives. She said "As we launch COWA in Kebbi Command, I urge all members to actively participate in the Association's initiatives and contribute to its growth. Together, we can achieve great things and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our members".

She added that the launch presents an opportunity for meaningful engagement, collaboration, and growth in initiatives that promote economic empowerment, healthcare, and education."The COWA's initiatives in skill acquisition programs, mental health awareness campaigns, and humanitarian efforts, have positively impacted numerous lives and we deeply appreciate our leadership for this", she said.

The Kebbi State Comptroller of Customs, Nwokorie said the COWA National President's visit to kebbi command would remain remarkably important, and will be remembered as the very first official visit of any First Lady of Nigeria Customs Service to Kebbi Area Command, since its creation in 2019.

 

He said "Your presence here today with your Management Team, strongly signifies your passion and commitment towards the enhancement of Officers’ wives’ welfare and well being.

"As we gather here today, we celebrate a new beginning for the women of Kebbi Command, and we are grateful to our National President and Chairperson, whose presence here today underscores the importance of this launch.

To the women of Kebbi Area Command and the communities hereabout, I’m glad to announce to you that by this COWA launch today, happy days have just begun", he said.
