A faith-based organization is engaging in the national conversation surrounding Nigeria’s migration crisis, commonly referred to as the JAPA syndrome.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Fountain of Life Sanctuary, will host a one-day summit themed "Exploring All Dimensions of the JAPA Syndrome in Nigeria."
During a press conference held at the church premises in Ikeja, Lagos, the convener, Pastor Noruwa Edokpolo, announced that the conference is scheduled for May 31st in Ikeja, Lagos. The event will feature keynote speeches, expert panels, and faith reflections addressing the emotional and structural realities of migration.
Pastor Edokpolo emphasized the lack of adequate information available to prospective migrants, highlighting the importance of bringing together experts from various fields to educate attendees on the advantages and disadvantages of traveling abroad.
The organizers aim to foster open dialogue and provide guidance on the decision to stay, emigrate, or return—deliberately and thoughtfully.
