The 71 Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps recruits have been urged to be efficient and productive in tackling criminal elements in kebbi State.
The state Commandant of NSCDC in the state,Kabiru Abubakar Alkamawa gave the charge during the passing out parade of the recruits and officers and ceremony to mark the International Civil Defence Day in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the federal government has successfully recruited over 6,500 Nigerians across the country and 71 of them are in kebbi State for their passing out parade.
The NSCDC commandant said the recruits are all Indigenes of Kebbi State and they are familiar with the custom and tradition as well as the terrains of the locality to help reduce crime in the state to the nearest minium.
"The recruits have undergone six months training needed for them to be able to carryout their legitimate duties with sense of commitment", he said.
Governor Nasir Idris, represented by the Secretary to the State Government Yakubu Bala Tafida said the state was ready to partner and support the NSCDC as it is doing with other security agencies in the state.
