Having done so well in the world of journalism, Abdul-Rahman Ismail, a well-known media expert in the city of Lagos was amongst notable personalities in society, High Chief Edward Larunsi, the Baale of Ashorobi town in Ogun State, conferred with a distinguished title last weekend.
The Akede News Boss, Chief Rahman Niyi Ismail’s down-to-earth personality is what has been paving the way for him, and shaping his life on the right path.

Rahman, a proud Lagosian, was born and bred in the Epe area of Lagos State over forty years ago.

Being from the original Ijebu (s) faction of Epe indigenes, it’s behoove to have a link to one of the Seaside villages under the Epe federal constituency. In light of this, Rahman’s lineage could be traced to Shirinwon/Igbękodo town in Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State.

His late grandfather, Chief Rahman Sanni was the BALOGUN of Shirinwon/Igbękodo towns. After his demise, his loving son, Rahman Akanbi Mutiu, Ba’aroyin's father was appointed to step on his late father’s stool as BALOGUN of the above-mentioned towns and as well as BALOGUN Adinni of the two town’s Central Mosque.

Going by the lineage of Chief Rahman, Chieftaincy's title is their call, and when duty calls, you honour.

Ba’aroyin of Shorobi Igbein, is a journalist, a seasoned one to reckon with in the industry. He lived in Agbowa/Ikosi, under Ikosi Ejirin local government developmental area where he had his both primary and secondary school education.

He is a product of Lagos State University (LASU). He started his Journalism career at The World Information Agents Limited, the publisher of ALAROYE newspaper and AKEDE Agbaye magazine respectively in the year 2005/2006 as an Industrial Trainee (I.T) student.

After graduation, Chief Rahman worked briefly in an electrical installation company, Kandelight where he was skilled as an electrician but his penchant and urge for writing and journalism led to his resignation from the company and pitched his tent with Alariya Oodua Communication, publisher of Alariya Oodua Magazine.

Having entrenched his prowess in the Yoruba style of news writing, under the tutelage of his highly respected boss, Prince Quazeem Aderounmu, who happened to be the editor of the magazine then and now the publisher of both De-reportorial and ALORE TV, Chief Rahman found it worthy to sharpen his teeth in the English faction of news writing.

Hence, he was gainfully employed at the Top Celebrities Magazine where he was saddled with the responsibility of covering entertainment beat. It is no doubt that entertainment stories sell tabloids and magazines. This invariably challenged Chief Rahman Niyi Ismail to cover over seven pages of the magazine 32 pages with mind-blowing cover page stories that stood a chance to send other competitors to extinction.

At the Top Celebrities magazine, his resilient and hardworking spirit led to his promotion as a Senior staff writer before he resigned and became an editor with Newsthumb magazine where he spearheaded the overall activities of the total production process.

In the spirit of seeking more experience in the industry, Chief Rahman resigned at the Newsthumb and got employment at the Nigeria NewsDirect daily newspaper owned by Dr Samuel Ibiyemi of blessed memory after years of active involvement, Rahman later Joined the Global Excellence magazine editorial crew.

Having served meritoriously in various capacities, JORNA as Chief Rahman Niyi Ismail is fondly called among his peers chose to diversify by going into the automobile business.
