One thousand, two hundred and forty-eight women have been presented with starters business equipment, and cash by the wife of Kebbi State's Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris in collaboration with the state's Ministry for Women Affairs.
While speaking during the graduation ceremony and distribution of the skills acquisition materials to the 1,247 trainees, the Governor's wife, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris said the beneficiaries were trained in batches for one year by Nasare Foundation in tailoring, catering, computer science, costomology, and shoe making.
She urged them to utilize the materials given to them for their progress and development. She said the training program would continue as more women are still being targeted to benefit from it.
Speaking earlier the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Halima Kamba Warned the beneficiaries not to sell the skill acquisition materials given to them.
She said, "I beg you to use it for your progress and that of your families as more women are still being targeted to for the program".
The state Coordinator of, the Nigeria for Women project in Kebbi State, Yakubu Muhammed said women in the state have contributed N600m for the project while the project sponsors had so far expended N3.5bn on the women's project in Kebbi State
