Olokinni's death a great loss to Yoruba land,Gani Adams says

Aare-Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams has described the death of  Olokinni of Okinni,Oba Akadiri Okanola,as a great loss to Yoruba land, saying the foremost monarch was a source of pride to the Yoruba race.

The late Olokinni was the foremost monarch in Okinni,a popular town in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State.

Iba Adams, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media,Kehinde Aderemi,said the demise of the Okinni monarch had robbed Yoruba land of one of its foremost sons that had contributed greatly to the development of Yoruba race.

The Yoruba generalissimo stated also that Yoruba history would be kind to the monarch for his efforts in transforming the town .

"Kabiesi has played his part and his  contributions in Yorubaland  cannot  gone unnoticed.We will sorely miss his gentle approach to things.

"For over three decades on the throne of his forebears, Kabiesi touched the lives of the people positively as a royal father that he was.

"I pray God to give the immediate family and the people of the town the fortitude to bear the loss".

Olokinni's demise came few weeks after the passing on of another traditional ruler in the state, the Elende of Eko-Ende, Oba Abdulrauf Olaniyan.

The late Oba Okanola reportedly passed away on Saturday in a hospital in Osogbo, the state capital and his death had set the town mourning.

Oba Okanola was installed in 1991, and he held the traditional position  for 32 years before he joined his ancestors.
