We have uncover plans to rig Kebbi guber election -PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party in Kebbi State on Thursday said it has uncovered a hatched plan to rig the Saturday governorship election in the state.

The Director General of the PDP's Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu said the party has received reliable information that there were plans to hijack the elections process and rig it in 16 local government areas of the state.

He said "They have concluded plans to cause delay in the BVAS accreditation process, add unaccredited voters to cause outright cancellation of the polling units and cause distruption in the units perceived to be PDP's strong holds".

He said those who plans to rig the elections have the backing of some election officials. "They perfected their plans in collaboration with some unscrupulous election officials", he said.

Reacting to the PDP rigging allegation, INEC Deputy Director of Publicity and Voters Education, Muhammed Rabiu said "There was no how any party can rig the Saturday elections because BVAs would be used for all the elections.

He said "Any of our staff that float INEC directives on the use of BVAS and conduct of the elections would be prosecuted". 

The PDP governorship campaign DG said in view of the ptevialing situation, the party has called on the Resident Electoral Commissioner, State Commissioner of Police, State Director of DSS and other stakeholders to investigate the plot and arrest the culprits.
