The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Kebbi State Chapter has endorsed the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, Dr Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu).
The State President of the Association Comrade Muhammed Mohammed Majo said they endorsed Dr Nasiru Idris Kaura Gwandu for the Governorship of Kebbi State for him to continue with his good work in the education sector of the state. He said the APC Governorship candidate has shown committement in the promotion of education across the state and Nigeria at large when he was national president of NUT.
He noted that the governorship candidate is a trained educationist who rose to the position of national president of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and he has contributed immensely to the educational system of the state.
"He upgraded and developed Kaura Gwandu Primary School and many secondary schools in the state. This is why the schools were named after him. He also gave scholarships to the indegent students in tertiary institutions.
"After the stakeholders meeting, we deliberated on the personalities that merits the position of governorship in Kebbi State and we all decided and agreed to vote Kauran Gwandu as APC Governorship Candidate because of his contributions to the state educational system.
"I am with the SUG presidents of other institutions not only in kebbi including Sokoto Zaria and Bauchi. The motive is to support Kauran Gwandu in the forthcoming 2023 elections.This is because he is honest, not a liar and he is generous to the society"..
Also speaking at the event, the National Coordinator of APC North West States of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign Organisation (S7-4-BATs) Alhaji Kabiru Sani Giant assured the students of good governance by the APC candidate if elected as governor of Kebbi State in 2023.
He appeal to them to vote the APC from top to down due to the past records of its candidates. "Mobilize your people, you know who Dr. Nasiru Idris Kaura Gwandu is and you know the records of Ahmed Bola Tinubu", he said.
In his response, the APC Governorship candidate, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kaura Gwandu) thanked the leadership of NANS for the endorsement of his candidacy for the governorship election. "Inshalhah I will not disappoint the youth, Civil servants, teachers and people of Kebbi State if elected as the governor", Kauran Gwandu said.
