Kebbi State Police command said it has arrested 3 persons in connection with the killing of a 20-year-old boy they allegedly stole a motorcycle from.
The suspects are Abubakar Ahmed, Ubaidu Ahmed, and Halilu Ahmed all residing in Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State. And they are brothers of the same parents.
A release by Kebbi Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar and signed for the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora said the arrested suspects conspired and went to the residence of one Sanusi Abubakar and demanded him to call his junior brother Abbas Abubakar A.K.A Zabi out for them because they suspected he was responsible for the stolen of their motorcycle, Haojue Roba-Roba.
It said, "When Abbas was called out for them, the suspects took him to their house, tied him with a rope, and beat him up to a state of the comma".
It added that on the same day, the suspects took the said Abbas in their motor vehicle to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Birnin Kebbi. Hence, they were instantly arrested and rushed Abbas to Sir Yahaya memorial hospital where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
The release said the Commissioner of Police, Kontagora has directed the DPO to immediately transfer the case to SCID, Birnin Kebbi for thorough investigation with a view to unraveling the circumstances surrounding the dastardly act.
