50 youth groups across the 21 local government areas in Kebbi State on Monday declares their support for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Nasiru Idris in the coming governorship election.
While addressing journalists at Kaura Gwandu Primary school in Birnin Kebbi, the chairman Makerar Gandu Support Association, Comrade Murtala Umar said no fewer than 50 youth groups association has endorsed Dr Idris for the governorship election in the state.
He said the decision to support the APC governorship candidate is their believe that the APC candidate will bring development to all sectors in the state and makes its civil service more functional.
He said they have absolute confidence in the leadership qualities of the APC governorship candidate because he is the only candidate that can address the challenges facing the state.
"After due consultations with political elites and other relevant stakeholders in the state, we have concluded to support the APC governorship candidate because only him can take the state to the promise land" he said.
Speaking early, the APC Chairman, Birnin Kebbi Local Government, Sani Bello, commended the youth groups for their decisions to support the APC governorship candidate in the state.
He assured them that if the APC candidate is elected his administration will prioritize youth engagement in all its programs and they will be part of decision makers in the government.
In his speech, the former Chairman Buhari/Atiku second term campaign movement, Alhaji Kabiru Sani Giant expressed appreciation over the development. He applauded the youth groups for their dedication and support or the party and its governorship candidate. He urged them to further unite themselves to achieve their objectives.
"We have to work hard and support our party and candidate to win the forthcoming election, let us eschew any political difference and speak with one mind", he said.
Responding, the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Nasiru Idris Kaura Gwandu thanked the youth groups for coming together for his success in coming election. He assured them of his commitment towards their course to promote kebbi state.
"This journey is for all of us. I will never disappoint you, I urge you all to ensure people vote for APC from top to bottom" he said.
