Excitements, praises as Sen Aliero flags off rural cash grant disbursement in constituency

It was excitement galore as Senator Adamu Aliero flags off the 2023 rural cash grant disbursement in kebbi Central Senatorial District comprising of Birnin Kebbi, Bunza,Aliero,Gwandu, Jega,Koko Besse, Kalgo and Maiyama.

No fewer than 5,600 beneficiaries are expected to benefit from the on going rural cash grant disbursement project initiated by senator Aliero in the eight local government areas that makes up of Kebbi Central Senatorial District.

According to the coordinator of the cash grant project in Birnin Kebbi, Muhammed Bello Umar, 1448 people particularly the vulnerable drawn from all the wards were given N20,000 each as cash grants.

He said each beneficiaries provided either their voters card, BVN number or NIN number to benefit from the cash disbursement.

In Gwandu local government area of Kebbi central Senatorial district, the coordinator, Alhaji Nasiru Bala said 600 people were registered to benefit from the cash disbursement. 

He said "We set up committee to screen people from all the striata of the society which includes the vulnerable, religious group, political group, youth,women and people living with disabilities. 

"They sent the list of these people  to us after been cleared for the payment of N20,000 each".

In similar vein, coordinator of the program in Bunza, Alhaji Abubakar Ruwa Sambo said 700 people benefited from the cash grants project. He said anyone who is screened and has BVN,NIN or voters card is qualified to collect N20,000.

One the beneficiaries in Gwandu, Shehu Aliyu told journalists that the cash disbursement had helped to grow their businesses and improved their living conditions. 

"Senator Aliero had earlier gave us cows now again he gave us money. We will remain grateful to him because his assistance is touching our lives," he said.

Another beneficiary in the area, Hafsat Muhammed said the cash grant has helped in their households. 

"I will use this money to pay my two children's school fees. Aliero has done so.much for us. That's why we will always answer him anytime he needs anything from us", she said.

Also a housewife in Bunza, Aisha Yusuf was full of gratitude to senator Aliero for the cash disbursement. She said "I'm a house wife, I do tailoring for a living. With this cash grant I can do better in my profession and as well be of assistance to my household".

The remaining local government areas of the senatorial district are expected to benefit from the cash grants disbursement in the next phase of the project.
