Breaking News: Yoruba Actors Mourn As Tafa Oloyede Dies


Popular veteran Actor, John Adewumi, aka Tafa Oloyede is Dead.

The Ede, Osun State-born dude who ventured into acting in 1974 died today.

He had his tutelage under the late Oyin Adejobi. He has featured in many movies that include ‘Jaiyesimi’, ‘Ayanmo’, ‘Ekuro Oloja’, ‘Orogun’, ‘Akanji Oniposi’ and others.

Tafa Oloyede who was born on 19th November 1952 is hardly seen in movies these days; a development that stands as a source of worry to his fans.

According to Osun state Secretary of the Theater Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria, Ademola Oyedokun, the late Tafa Oloyede died in Osogbo on Tuesday.

He said, “He (Tafa Oloyede) is dead. I just left the mortuary. I will brief you later.”

Oloyede, who enjoyed fame after featuring in a movie titled Akanji Oniposi, also featured in movies including Jaiyesimi, Ayanmo, Ekuro Oloja and Orogun, among others.
