2023 Presidency: Why We Won't Support Bola Tinubu, Afenifere Says

Having come out to notify the public via an interview he granted to some journalists, about his intention to run for the presidency, different reactions have continued to trail Asiwaju Bola Tinubu's lifetime ambition to rule Nigeria.
The former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu a few days ago informed President
Buhari of his intention to run for President in 2023.
Many Nigerians expected that because his support groups have been touring the country to consult key stakeholders.
However, a Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere has come out to state that they won't support his presidential ambition.
According to Daily Trust, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the Afenifere leader made it clear that the organization won't support Tinubu's ambition because the country is yet to be restructured
That is why I ask if Tinubu can realize his presidential ambition now that Afenifere a popular organization in the South-West has said they won't support his presidential ambition.
To start with, Afenifere has a lot of highly respected Yoruba leaders who many people in Yoruba land listen to.
Charity they say begins at home and I wonder if Tinubu can go far with his ambition if an organization like Afenifere is not backing him.
Some people may say that it doesn't matter if Afenifere supports him or not. But the fact is that it matters this time.
If he eventually grabs the presidential ticket of the APC, he needs to win as many votes as possible in the South-West in other to stand a chance of emerging the President.
The South-South and South-East are predominantly PDP. So he will be counting on the North and the votes in the South-West to win the 2023 presidential election if he emerges as APC flag bearer.
Afenifere is still insisting on the restructuring of the country.
Part of the reason the organization is angry with APC is that the party reportedly promised to restructure the country during campaigns ahead of the 2015 presidential election.
More than 6 years since it became the ruling party, APC appears not to be interested in restructuring the country again.
However, Tinubu can still win the heart of Afenifere by showing that he is ready to restructure the country if he becomes the President of Nigeria in 2023.
