Police Needs Required Weapons To Deal With Banditry, Criminality In North West -AIG

The Assistant Inspector General of Police zone 10, in charge of Sokoto,Kebbi and Zamfara, Ali Aji Janga has said the police needed the required weapons to deal with banditry and other criminality in north west part of the country.

The AIG during a working visit to Kebbi State Police Command in Birnin Kebbi said over 500 police men and officers are currently in Zamfara fighting along the soldiers to deal with banditry in the state.


He said "Its sad to hear our women and daughters been raped by bandits. If the police were given the necessary weapons we will deal with banditry in the north west".


He commended the Kebbi police command over achievement he said it recorded within a short while that the present commissioner of police, Musa Baba took over in the state.


He said without intelligence gathering the police cannot succeed in its duties. He urged officers and men of the police command to make themselves available to members of the public to get the required information needed to fight various crimes in the state.

"You must always be at alert anywhere you are posted to and ensure you give necessary information about happenings in the area to the command for prompt action", he said. 

Speaking earlier, the commissioner of police, kebbi state Musa Baba the command is faced with challenges in the area of working facilities, manpower and officers accommodation. He said despite the challenges they were able to deal with any form of criminality in the state.
