Yomi Fabiyi clears air on Oko Iyabo… says, no ban is placed on my movie

Top Nollywood Actor and producer, Yomi Fabiyi has reiterated that his latest controversial movie ‘Oko Iyabo’ has not been banned by any group or authority.

He said the movie hasn’t been banned contrary to what is being said on social while adding that people will soon have the opportunity to enjoy the movie when he eventually applies with the Censor’s board for ‘Oko Iyabo’ to be rated.

The activist-cum-movie maker said the movie is about two young actors, Yomi and Iyabo fighting a case from different angles and personalities.

He explained the concept behind the movie was to tell a true-life story, adding that he has the right to use the actress’ name in his movie.

Yomi further explained that his colleagues, Iyabo Ojo and Comedienne Princess have also made movies in the past where his full names were used however, the table has now been upturned as they have continued to mudsling him since he decided to follow their pattern.
He maintained that that ‘Oko Iyabo’ was never intended to undermine the victim of Baba Ijesha’s alleged sexual molestation nor any other girl child in particular.

He also stated that the movie hasn’t been banned contrary to what is being said on social while adding that people will soon have the opportunity to enjoy the movie when he eventually applies with the Censor’s board for ‘Oko Iyabo’ to be rated.

The actor noted that regardless of how much anyone tries to undermine ‘Oko Iyabo’ they won’t succeed as no one can abort a child who had already been born.

Fabiyi taking to Instagram shared a post that read; “OKO IYABO MOVIE & concept is about Yomi (me) & Iyabo. I have a right to write my own story.

“Iyabo Ojo has done many videos mentioning my full names and the videos were published on YouTube, IGTV etc simply because I stand for HUMAN RIGHTS, so also Princess mentioned my real names. They called me paedophile and rape apologist for standing by what is right. So sentiment on use of real names. It is allowed in movie making.
“The movie never undermines the victim or any girl child, someone twisted that so they can make you react. Most commenting did not see the FULL MOVIE before judgment. Mo fa yin le Olorun lowo.” He said.
