#OduaNation: Vice President Yemi Osibanjo says Nigeria will not break as Sunday Igboho insists no going back

As Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Igboho has given a date for a mega rally in Lagos, on the 3rd of July 2021, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has called on Nigerians youths to work for the unity of the country and avoid stoking the embers of division.

Osinbajo, who spoke on Monday during the maiden Progressive Youth Conference organised by APC Youth wing at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, stated that those waiting for the disintegration of Nigeria would be disappointed.

In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande, Osinbajo said, “Those waiting on the sidelines hoping that the country would disintegrated will be very sorely disappointed and I’m very sure those of you sitting here today will prevent that from happening.

“This country can take all of us, regardless of tribe, religion, gender or age, and I want to urge you to continually seek ways of making this union fairer and more just for the benefit of all.”

Restating the country’s strength in unity in diversity, Prof. Osinbajo noted, “Our people will be better served by a large, populous and diverse country. As with all big and diverse countries, our business is to make the union work.”

“It is to give everyone a sense of belonging. It is to continue to balance the inequities and provide a socio-economic framework that guarantees everyone a fair chance.”

 Meanwhile, the Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has said nothing will stop Oduduwa Republic agitators from storming Lagos on July 3 for a mega rally.

Igboho, who has been spearheading the rallies to mobilise more support for the agitation for a sovereign Yoruba nation, to be called Oduduwa Republic stated that Lagos, the commercial hub of Nigeria is the next venue for the rally. 

Some of the states in the region that have witnessed the rally include Osun, Ogun, Ekiti, and Ondo States.

The spokesman to the activist, Olayomi Koiki, who spoke in a live video, said the rally is scheduled to take off from Ojota Park, Lagos on Friday. 

He said, “We are sending a peaceful message to Governor Sanwo-Olu. We do not mind any other person who is saying we should not come to Lagos.

“Sanwo-Olu is the chief security officer of the land and we are coming to Lagos.

“July 3rd is the most important date; nobody can say we should not come to Lagos. It is a peaceful rally.

“We have gone to Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti and we had peaceful rallies, so nobody can stop us from not coming to Lagos.”
