Police arrests vigilante for killing passerby in Badia... 17 armed robbers arrested with arms in Lagos

The police operatives attached to Ijora Division of the command, on Tuesday has arrested one Vigilante member, Lukman Rasak, 30 years old for shooting one Musa Yahaya, 28 years old on his chest at Ijora area of Lagos State.

According to the Police Public Relation officer in Lagos, Muyiwa Adejobi, he said the victim was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead. 

He stressed further that the police were alerted and raced to the place, arrested the suspect and recovered his gun with some cartridges.


“Also, in another development, the policemen attached to Elemoro Division, on Wednesday 14/04/2021 at about 2am, arrested seventeen (17) suspected armed robbers at their various hideouts within the area based on intelligent gathering. The suspects are Oladapo Job, 22 years, Abdulraheem Sidibaba, 20 years, Abdulrasheed Adebayo, 20 years, Tajudeen Abdullahi and Agbaje Sunday, 21 years and twelve (12) others. 

Items recovered from them are: Three cut-to-size locally-made pistols and four live cartridges. They are the suspected armed robbers alleged to be terrorizing and robbing the residents and POS Operators at Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State. They are giving useful information to the police on their various activities and/or operations in Lekki area.” The Police spoke person said. 


The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that all the suspects be transferred to State CID, Panti, Yaba-Lagos, for proper investigation and possible prosecution. 

The police boss also affirmed that the command will be more proactive in its anti crime strategies by taking the fights against criminals and hoodlums in the state to their hideouts.
