In a bid to protect the lives of the people in some communities in Yewa North of Ogun State, The Eselu of Iselu kingdom, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, has tasked government to live up to her responsibility by providing adequate security measure to protect people of the area.
The Monarch when speaking to this medium said, "It is a terrible situation in my area as some Fulani herdsmen have continue to attack some areas like Igua, Igbogila, Owode Ketu, Ibeku, Agbon Ojodu and others. People were killed in a broad day light. We cannot fold our arms and watch as these people continue to kill. How can someone be experiencing this kind of attack in one's home. People in their homes can no longer sleep and close their eyes. We are now in a situation where a visitor would come and invade our home and kill our people." The Monarch said.
He stressed further that, "We really need government intervention as some towns in my area were attacked recently in Yewa. People's lives are no longer safe in the area.
In his reaction to the altercation he had with Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Eselu said, "Some respectable Monarchs have intervened and all issues of misunderstanding between Ooni and I, have been resolved."
Eselu, a first class Oba said, "Some respectable Monarchs have intervened and all issues of misunderstanding have been settled. We are one and we shall continue to work together for the development of our communities."
Also, he has described Sunday Igboho, as a wonderful man who is out to save
his people. I met him through a friend and Chief Sunday Adeyemo is a kind of
voice we need in Yoruba land, if we must liberate ourselves from the hands of
Fulani herdsmen that have become something else in our land. Today, what we
really need is total evacuation of herdsmen from our land, if we really want
peace to reign."
Eselu has been on the throne since 2005 with a track records of good development in his area.
