"They (Nigerian youths) are high on drugs all the time, most of them. They go to social media to do all sorts of things."
Lagos lawmaker,
Mojisola Alli-Macauley, on recent events in the state gave this on the floor of the house and reactions
have continued to follow her submission.
Nigerians
have not spared this law maker for describing Nigerian youths as drug addicts
and calling them names.
Many have
described her submission as a slap to the Nigerian youths that were part of the
people that voted for her during her quest to become a legislator.
An anonymous said, “It is sad listening to those we voted for calling us names and tagging Nigerian youths as drug addicts before the whole world, it is not good and this has to be refuted.”
In reaction to her comment, someone tweeted, “She literally stood up to say someone that is a
graduate should go and start trade, she didn’t talk about the lack of
opportunities and jobs she didn’t talk about how the system doesn’t work...But
we’re the problem???”
