Having recorded a great feat in Lagos in almost a year the radio station commenced operation, Tungba FM is now in Igbajo, Boluwaduro LG, Osun state, Nigeria.
The MD/CEO of the company TUNGBA COMMUNICATION LTD, Prince Odo Gbolahan in his words said, “I am from Igbajo, and I am highly passionate about my community’s development, hence the need to have a radio station in the community becomes a priority and we have got it.”
Odo stressed further that, “Media brings development, having a radio station situated in my town, this would allow our voice to be heard and there would be quick intervention to our needs from government, unlike before when we had to strive to be heard. Also, the station would serve in many ways to our people, and its existence will open business for development, job creations and will serve as a facilitator for our kith and kin that are into different professions to bring branches of their offices to Igbajo. Having banks, law firm, insurance company and others will be of good benefits.” He said.
The Chairman, Tungba FM said having a branch in Osun state less than a year the radio station commenced operation shows an insight that in a couple of years, the station would have a network belt across Nigeria.
Also, having experienced some difficulties, especially when the station got burnt within some months of its operation, Odo said, “In every business, there is always challenges, because every business has its hidden problem and for any reasonable businessman, if you want to commit one hundred million (100M) on a business, it is better, you start with 30 million while you keep your 70 million saved for eventuality. Whenever the hidden problem surfaces, the possibility of getting it solved becomes easy once you have some reasonable amount saved to counter unforeseen difficulties.
“People should be consistent in handling business, you don’t hop from one business to the other, its when you are consistent that you can make headway.
“When the station got burnt, I had to quickly do something to put it back on track because of the staffs and our ardent listeners that derive joy listening to us.
“Many out there today rely solely on what they hear from us and this has kept many going in this difficult period when people have little or no hope. When people pass comments on how we have been able to touch their lives positively, I feel fulfilled as the Chairman of the station." He concluded.
Prince Odo Gbolahan is a businessman whose interest ranges from Oil and gas and still intends to expand his media company by having a television station soon and other media outlet.
