The student of Adeyemi College of Education with an affiliation to
Obafemi Awolowo University presented her the award on Thursday amidst pomp and pageantry.
The Egbe Akekoo Ijinle Yoruba of the school honoured her with the title
Aforingbedega ile Yoruba in the presence of the editor of ALARIYA OODUA, a
popular Yoruba news magazine, Kunle Babarinde.
Bunmi in her reaction described the honour as a great privilege. She said,
“I give all the glory to God for this award. I was happy and moved to tears when
students all came out to celebrate me. They sang my songs, they made me
appreciate my God more; and I felt loved in their midst.
“I have dedicated the awards to all fans across the globe for their
unwaning love towards me and my career over the years. The journey has been
wonderful, right from the onset and His favour over me has always been
enormous. I will continue in the way of God and my quest to win souls for Christ
will remain a priority.” She concluded
Bunmi Omije Ojumi has been around making waves for almost 2
decades, her gospel music has taken her far and wide around the globe. To her
name, she has the following albums that are evergreen; DABIRA,
ALATILEYINMI, MASUNKUNMO, TUJUKA, TESTIMONY and OTIMUREWA.
