
One of Nigeria’s foremost
television drama producers, Asiwaju Benson Akindeju will be buried this week.
In a statement made available
to us, his corpse will arrive Muritala Muhammed International Airport this week
Wednesday 27th March from London where he passed on few days ago,
Service of songs will come up
at his residence; 11, Otukoya, Street, Asolo, Ikorodu, Lagos by 5pm after the
body might have been deposited in a morgue.
The statement reads thus, “On
Thursday 28th March 2019, there would be a Commendation service at St Paul's
Anglican Church Ajaguro, Isawo Road, Opposite Ori-Okuta Junction, Ikorodu, Lagos
by 9am. Thereafter, his body will leave for his home town in a motorcade to
Igbotako, Okitipupa, Ondo State, where his wake keep will take place by 5pm.”
Asiwaju Benson’s burial service will come up
at St John's Anglican Church, Igbotako on Friday, 29th, March by 10am, after
which his body will be laid to rest at the church’s cemetery.
Entertainment of guest will
follow immediately at Community Grammar School Igbotako.
AK MEDIA Boss, is a Content
producer with award winning television drama series; he passed on at the age of
59 on the 4th of March, 2019 in a London hospital after a brief illness.
The Media marketing guru was
the producer of the following programs, FACE2FACE, FAMILY TIES, NOWHERE TO BE
FOUND, LIBERTY VILLA, OYINMOMO ON DSTV and many more.
Asiwaju Benson was a business
man whose passion for entertainment made him had a shot in hospitality business
thus having a hotel in Lagos and his home town Igbotako in Ondo state.
He was the general manager of
Wale Adenuga Production for many years; before he set up AK MEDIA Concepts Ltd;
a Content Production company in the year 2005.
Akindeju was widely known in
the media Agencies for his track records of being a successful Media Marketing
Guru of over three decades.
He is an alumni of University
of Manchester Business School United Kingdom.
A fellow of the Institute of
Data Processing Management of Nigeria, Also a full member of National Institute
of Marketing of Nigeria, and a member; Electronic Content Owners of Nigeria
(EMCOAN).
He was a community leader
who served with great passion for a better and greater Ikale both at home and
every other place he dwelt.
He was awarded an ICON; the
prestigious award was conferred on him as one of the 40 ICONS in Ondo State
during the celebration of Ondo State at 40.
He was conferred with the
prestigious title of Asiwaju of St. John's Anglican Church, Igbotako. He was
installed by His Lordship Rt. Rev. Ebun Ogunele, the Diocesan Bishop of Diocese
on the Coast, Ondo State. Also, he was conferred with the title of Asiwaju of
Noble Star of Ikale land by HRM Oba Michael Adetuga, The Jegun of Idepe
Okitipupa.
He was a devoted Christian;
in his life time; he worshiped at St. Paul Anglican church, Ajaguro. Also, he
was bestowed with the Asiwaju of Ikale land by His Royal Majesty Oba George
Babatunde Faduyile the Abodi of Ikale land.
He was survived by wife,
children; family and friends.
His body was received by his daughter, Yosola Olajumoke Akindeju with other family members around this morning at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
