Having sojourned in the world of music for 18 years; Ayanfe
Kenny a.k.a Oba Legit has described his musical career as a special gift with a
quest to take music to the next level.
He said “I started with a style that was peculiar to the
Late Baba Ara in Ibadan. My style of music is meant to entertain people and
pass message of hope. I sing Juju with gospel music, with this, we have tagged
it Jugospel. The name of the band is Fresh
Ayanfe Kenny and his legit brothers band.”
His first album was titled Simple Praise released in 2009,
and in 2012, Oba Legit came out with another hit, Thanksgiving. With that, he
was able to reach out to many music lovers outside his base in Ado Ekiti.”
Kenny in his words said, “I believe in giving the best to
the public, my kind of music is what people will listen to and pick viable
things that will aid them in life as human. I believe so much in music that has
messages, it shouldn’t be dancing alone. If you intend to dance away your
sorrow with music, you should also be conscious of picking messages in the
music that will make you a better person.
“That is why I will always urge our people to give to the
society music that will right the wrong not something that will worsen it.”
Currently Oba Legit said he is working on a project titled
Fresh Glory, an album he said will make an impact in the music industry.
“It’s been a while I released an album, soon my fans will
have a new album from me. It’s going to be a great music they can listen to in
the corner of their homes with lots of fun and lyrical message that will turn their
life for good. My new album is titled Fresh Glory, its coming to take the
centre stage in music and it shall be a great delight to music lovers.”He
said.
Also, he has described his relationship with Wasiu Alabi
Pasuma and Fatai Akanbi Valentine as a very cordial one.
“These two great fuji Acts are good people I respect so much
in the industry, their style and relationship with upcoming artistes and those
that are well established in music make me see them as good role models I can
always take after.”
Being a music producer, Oba Legit said he has trained so
many people and seeing them doing great in same field gives him joy.
The Ilesa born musician said, “My contribution in the
entertainment industry has earned me many awards and soon I shall be picking
another one as the most Outstanding Juju/Gospel Act. This is a very good one
and part of my plan is on how to relocate to one of the most populous city in
Nigeria where I could explore more in my musical career.
