Kwara state governor,
Abdul-Fatah Ahmed has condemned those linking him and the Senate President
Bukola Saraki to the armed robbery attack in Ofa as being insensitive.
This was monitored in an exclusive interview the Governor had on Channels television (Road Map 2019)
Abdul-Fatah Ahmed said, it is laughable for anyone to think he would be involved in such dastard act being number one security officer of the state.
Abdul-Fatah Ahmed said, it is laughable for anyone to think he would be involved in such dastard act being number one security officer of the state.
The act which he considered counter-productive
based on all machinery the state government has put in place for a productive
Ofa being one of the major vibrant towns in the state.
The governor said, “It is only
laughable to see and hear that I would be involved in a process that will be
counterproductive to what we are putting resources in, to ensure that the lives
and activities of people change for the better.”
He added that it is nonsensical
for any reasonable person to link him and the senate president, Dr. Bukola
Saraki to the mayhem perpetrated by some armed robbers in Ofa, in Kwara state.
It could be recalled that not
less than over 30 souls were cut down during a massive attack on banks in Ofa
town, Offa local government in Kwara state some months back. Many lives were
lost including that of some policemen whose station was attacked during the
raid.
Governor Fatai Ahmed and the
Senate President have debunked the story linking them to the robbery, while
armed robbers that were involved in the robbery are cooling their feet in
police custody.
