According to the Police, operatives attached to the Sagamu Division acted swiftly after receiving a distress call that suspected cattle thieves had invaded a cow yard in the Maskoli area of Sagamu and stolen seven cows. Acting on credible intelligence, officers intercepted the suspects along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway, arrested two men identified as Abiodun Kamilu (35) and Adesanya Segun (37), recovered six of the stolen cows, and seized a blue Nissan Cabster bus believed to have been used for the operation. Efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the syndicate and recover the remaining cow.
In another successful operation, officers of the Command's Safer Highway Patrol Team responded to gunshots at Onigaari on Sunday, 26 July 2026. Their prompt intervention forced the suspected kidnappers to flee into the bush, while the intended victim was rescued safely and escorted to the Ogunmakin Police Post.
Commending the professionalism and bravery of the officers, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, reassured residents that the Command remains committed to intelligence-led policing, strategic patrols, and rapid response to criminal activities. He also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support ongoing efforts to keep Ogun State safe.
