Bring Your Children to School and Get Paid, Oyo Guber Aspirant AKK Tells Voters

A governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), has pledged to introduce a policy that will financially reward parents who enrol their children in school, insisting that education is a fundamental right that must be guaranteed for every child.

Kareem made the pledge during a grassroots engagement with community leaders and residents of Ibadan South-East Local Government Area as part of activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Speaking at the event, the aspirant said his administration would prioritise free and quality education, supported by incentive-driven policies aimed at encouraging school enrolment and regular attendance.

According to him, parents would receive financial incentives based on the number of their children enrolled and actively attending school. He explained that the initiative, inspired by similar policies successfully implemented in some Western countries, would help increase enrolment, reduce dropout rates, and prevent children from being denied education due to poverty or social challenges.

Kareem added that tying incentives to school attendance would also enable the government to generate accurate data on students across the state, enhancing planning, resource allocation, and overall learning outcomes.

Beyond education, the governorship aspirant outlined plans to introduce interest-free loans for small and medium-scale businesses, with a focus on traders, artisans, entrepreneurs, and young business owners. He said the scheme would stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities, and improve livelihoods across Oyo State.

He stressed that disciplined leadership built on integrity, transparency, and the fear of God would make the proposed initiatives achievable, noting that governance must be centred on service and accountability to the people.

Kareem further disclosed that the proposals are contained in his policy blueprint, Our Realistic Tomorrow, which he described as a practical roadmap for inclusive governance and sustainable development in the state.

The visit ended on a positive note as donations were made to support the local community, with the aspirant reaffirming his commitment to building an Oyo State where opportunities are equal, hope is renewed, and the future of every child is secured.
