The annual Yauri Rigata Cultural and Heritage Festival in Kebbi State has been fixed to hold from 4th to 7th of February, 2026.
The festival's publicity committee led by the Ubandoman Yauri, Abubakar Sa'idu
said the festival is expected to be graced by many spectators, dignitaries, water players and manoeuvres from different parts of the state and the country.
He added that the event would showcase the importance of the Yauri Emirate Cultural heritage, abundant agricultural and natural resources and beautiful water sports of the locals which started over 100 years ago. He added that this would be demonstrated by the major tribes of the Emirate such as Kambari, Gungawa, Dukkuwa who lived in the main land.
The chairman of publicity committee of the Rigata festival said the cultural event is being organised annually by the emirate council under the supervision of the Emir of Yauri, Dr Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi to showcase the emirate's rich culture to the world.
While addressing the media on their preparation for the festival, he appealed to heads of management of the media organisations to assist the committee to succeed in the upcoming 2026 Rigata Cultural Festival scheduled to hold in the ancient town of Yauri .
He said "This year's Rigata festival has been fixed for 4th to 7th of February, 2026 and is expected to be graced by many spectators, dignitaries, water players and manoeuvres from different parts of the state and the country".
