In a remarkable show of interfaith unity, Christian and Muslim communities of Nigerian descent in the United Kingdom have jointly endorsed Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK) as their preferred candidate for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.

Dr. Kareem, a frontline aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), received the endorsements during separate events held in London as part of his ongoing diaspora engagement and outreach efforts.

The Christian endorsement was formalized on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the RCCG Revival Christian Church of Enfield, led by Senior Pastor Dr. Nick Chanda and Dr. Mulenga Chanda. During the service, Dr. Kareem addressed the congregation, presenting his vision for a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Oyo State.

“I am not running out of ambition for power or position,” he told the audience. “My intention is guided by faith and conviction — that Oyo State can rise to become a model of progress, justice, and shared prosperity for all.”

Church leaders lauded Dr. Kareem for his humility, integrity, and longstanding contributions to education and youth empowerment. The congregation offered special prayers for his gubernatorial bid, while many also purchased copies of his newly released book, Our Realistic Tomorrow, and posed for photos with the aspirant.

A week earlier, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, the Muslim community in the UK—including the Assalatur-Rahman Islamic Association, Dhiyaaul-Haq Islamic Society, and other prominent Nigerian Islamic groups—had similarly pledged their support for Dr. Kareem. Their endorsement came during a prelude to the AKK Town Hall Meeting, Book Launch, and Fundraising event held on Saturday, October 11, at Harris Academy Bermondsey Hall in London.

Speaking at the Islamic engagement, Muslim leaders praised Dr. Kareem’s track record of inclusive leadership, bridge-building across religious lines, and his commitment to good governance. Prayers were offered for his continued success and safe return to Nigeria to pursue the next phase of his political journey.

In response, Dr. Kareem expressed deep appreciation to both communities, reaffirming his commitment to leading with fairness and inclusivity.

“Leadership is a trust,” he said. “With God’s guidance and the people’s support, we will build a government rooted in values — honesty, equity, and compassion. I remain committed to being a servant-leader for all.”

The endorsements signal growing diaspora support for Dr. Kareem’s political vision, as he positions himself as a unifying figure ready to deliver value-driven leadership in Oyo State.

“Together,” he concluded, “we will make Oyo State a shining example of unity, innovation, and development — truly the Pace Setter State. Aseyori ni tiwa!”
