The candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the upcoming Remo Federal Constituency bye-election, Hon. Olusegun Razaq Shofowora, Ogo Remo has declared that he is not vying for the seat for personal intrest but to make peoples happy.
.Shofowora, popularly known as RRS, said that his mission to implement notable and impactful projects in the constituency outweighs stepping down at the eleventh hour for anyone.
The NNPP candidate stated this on Thursday during an interview with journalists. He pledged to continue to intensify his philanthropic efforts, which have earned him the nickname "Oko Opo" (Husband of widows/widowers).
He described the founder of the party, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, as an exemplary leader who has been making impactful strides in the lives of over 3,000 people studying overseas courtesy of his benevolence, promised that he would follow in his footsteps. If elected, he vowed to send 200 youths from the constituency abroad for studies.
"I will embark on door-to-door empowerment of my constituents and ensure that their lives improve significantly in all spheres – education, health, social welfare, adequate care for the aged, widows, and youths. All these are in the pipeline to ensure that my constituents enjoy better and worthy dividends of democracy."
"I have not entered politics for personal aggrandizement nor to enrich myself with the constituency allowance meant to implement projects."
