The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has suspended its state chairman, Engr. Sufiyanu Bala, along with the deputy chairman, Junaidu Muhammed Mudi, and secretary, Hawwa'u Muhammed, over allegations of poor leadership, lack of transparency, and financial mismanagement.
Addressing journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, the party's Publicity Secretary, Jamilu Muhammed, announced that Abdulrazaq Abubakar Isah Iko has been appointed as the interim chairman, while Adamu Aliyu takes over as the new secretary.
According to Muhammed, the suspended officials were making key decisions and running the party's affairs without consulting other members of the executive committee. He also accused them of misusing party funds and failing to account for expenditures made in the party’s name.
"After a series of meetings and consultations with critical stakeholders of the ADC in Kebbi State, the three pioneer executives have been suspended," he stated.
The party also denounced early political campaigns being carried out by certain politicians under the ADC’s name in Kebbi, saying such actions violate the Electoral Act. The party called on INEC and security agencies to take appropriate action.
