Comptroller Chidi Chukwumeziri Nwokorie has resumed as new Area Controller of Nigeria Customs Service Kebbi State Command following the retirement of Comptroller Iheanacho Ernest Ojike.

Comptroller Nwokorie resumed on Thursday as the 16th Area Controller of NCS Kebbi State Command at a colourful reception organized by the state command for the handing over of the mantle of leadership of the command to him by Comptroller Ojike who bowed out of the service after 35 years of meritorious service to the country.

While addressing officers of the command the new area controller commended the outgoing controller for the transformation and innovations, he brought to Kebbi command of the NCS, promising to build on his good works and even surpassed them.

He said "The outgoing comptroller is a performer. I once took over from at the administration today I'm taking over from him as area controller. I will need your cooperation to do better than him at this command".

Nwokorie thanked the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service for his appointment and promised not to disappoint him on all the responsibilities he is charged with as controller of Kebbi command.

He charged officers at the command to put in their best and see that the command is rated number one in the country. "My success here is your success, that of the service and Nigeria. One thing that will make us go together is the result we achieved at the end. I promise to leave the command better than I met it." The new controller said.

Earlier in his emotional remarks, the outgoing controller, Iheanacho Ernest Ojike thanked officers and men of tge command for their cooperation which made his tenure successful and result oriented. He said he couldn't have achieved all he achieved at the command without their efforts and commitment to duty to meet the mandate given to him as area controller in Kebbi state.

He charged them to give the same cooperation they gave him to his successor for him to succeed in the responsibilities he is charged with by the comptroller general of customs.

Ojike thanked all the officers and men of the command for the support given to him. He said "I met wonderful people in Kebbi command. It's with mixed emotions I'm saying this. I'm taking my bow from the customs but not from you as my friends, I appreciate you all".
